A Guide for Fourteen Days of Prayer for Harvest

"The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest." (Luke 10:2)

Instructions:

1. Begin your time of prayer by reading the Scripture passages for each day.

2.  Praise God for his goodness, faithfulness, holiness, power, and wisdom as He has worked in your life.

3. Confess your sins to Him.

4. Thank Him for the good news of the gospel.

5. Focus on the specific requests for each day. 

  

Day 1             SEEKING GOD

Read Psalm 63:1-3.

Read Psalm 27:7-10.

Ask God to . . .

v  Give you a deeper desire to know Him and walk with Him.

v  Help you put your relationship with Him before everything else.

v  Give you a renewed sense of joy in Christ.

 

Day 2             SEARCHING HIS WORD

Read Psalm 119:57-64.

Read Hebrews 4:12-13.

Ask God to . . .

v  Give you a new hunger for His Word.

v  Reveal the truth and beauty of His Word as you read.

v  Help you apply the truths of the Bible to your life.

v  Show you areas of your life that need to change.

v  Teach you more about His love and the good news of Jesus.

 

Day 3            SEARCHING OUR HEARTS

Psalm 139:23-24.

2 Corinthians 13:5.

Ask God to . . .

v  Search every corner of your life to reveal any sin.

v  Give you a deep desire for personal holiness.

v  Give you the strength to deal honestly and completely with sins in your life.

v  Reassure you of the forgiveness found in Christ.

 

Day 4            SEARCHING OUR RELATIONSHIPS

Matthew 5:23-24.

Colossians 3:12-15.

Ask God to . . .

v  Show you if you have any relationships in your life that need to be repaired.

v  Help both parties to forgive and mend the relationship.

v  Bring forgiveness and harmony to other broken relationships in your family and in the congregation. 

 

Day 5             REPENTANCE

Psalm 51:10-12.

Daniel 9:4-6.

1 John 1:9-2:2.

Ask God to . . .

v  Show you any areas of sin in your life.

v  Give you the strength to overcome sin and temptation.

v  Grant you the desire to glorify Him with all of your actions. 

 

Day 6            RENEWAL AT NEW LIFE

Ezekiel 37:3-6.

Ephesians 3:16-19.

Ask God to . . .

v  Pour out the Holy Spirit on the people of New Life.

v  Burden the church with a deeper sense of commitment to holiness and discipleship. 

v  Ignite the church with a passion to share the message of Christ. 

 

Day 7            SPIRIT-FILLING OF NEW LIFE

Ephesians 4:20-23.

Romans 8:12-17.

Ask God to . . .

v  Burden other believers with a deeper desire to know God's word.

v  Motivate them to put their relationship with God as their highest priority.

v  Bring them to repentance about whatever issues hinder their spiritual growth.

v  Renew for them the joy of their salvation.

 

Day 8           RENEWAL AND STRENGTH FOR NEW LIFE'S LEADERS

2 Tim 4:1-5.

Acts 6:2-4, 7.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24.

Ask God to . . .

v  Grant Pastor Michael spiritual wisdom and godly priorities.

v  Protect him and his family.

v  Give the deacons and other leaders wisdom and a greater desire to know Christ and make Him known.

v  Fill them with the Holy Spirit.

 

Day 9          STRENGTHENING OF FAMILIES

Colossians 3:18-21.

Deuteronomy 6:6-9.

Ask God to . . .

v  Help spouses to put one another's needs ahead of their own.

v  Grant spouses the grace to resolve conflicts in a godly manner.

v  Inspire parents to be spiritual leaders in the home.

v  Give the church wisdom as it seeks to meet families' needs. 

 

Day 10        CONCERN FOR THE LOST

Psalm 107:1-9.

Matthew 9:36-38.

Ask God to . . .

v  Help you understand and appreciate the plight of the lost.

v  Burden you with a desire to see lost friends and family come to Christ.

v  Motivate you to share the message of Christ with those who need to hear.

v  Bring to your mind individuals who need to hear the message of Christ this week.

 

Day 11         CONCERN FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Mark 2:1-5.

2 Kings 4:17-37.

Ask God to . . .

v  Fill you with a burden for your friends and family who do not know Christ as savior.

v  Grant you opportunities to share the message of Christ.

v  Give you strength as you seek to live a lifestyle that glorifies Jesus.

 

Day 12        CONVICTION OF SIN

Romans 1:20-21.

Job 40:1-5.

Ask God to . . .

v  Convince the lost of the truthfulness of the Bible and of the depth of their own sin.

v  Make evident to them His absolute holiness. 

v  Convince them of the reality and rightness of God's coming judgment.

 

Day 13         PRAYER FOR SALVATION

Isaiah 55:1-3.

Acts 2:38-41.

Ask God to . . .

v  Make evident to the lost the deep need for repentance.

v  Give them a clear understanding of the free gift of salvation.

v  Give them a new heart and a new life in Christ. 

 

Day 14          PRAYER OF COMMITMENT

Joshua 24:14-18.

Isaiah 6:8.

Ask God to . . .

v  Make clear to you how your spiritual priorities need to change.

v  Give you a clear vision for your role in making disciples.

Respond to God by . . .

v  Committing to serve Jesus and testify to the gospel as He directs.
